The article discusses aspects of computational intensity and cost related with the application of data mining algorithms (DMAs) to reporting system data as well as reported drug-event association. It states that the workflow associated with a drug safety data mining application can be affected by the computational intensity of DMAs. The two fundamental goals for which drug safety data mining applications have been deployed are screening and investigation. |
