| Abstrakt: |
The article focuses on the reconstruction of the courthouse and prison buildings at the Town Hall of Copenhagen, Denmark. The City Council of Copenhagen appointed Carl Frederik Hansen as the architect for the construction in 1800. He conceptualized the design as comprising two different buildings linked by arched passages. The Gaol was given a forbidden character, having barred windows and rusticated walls. |
