The article deals with the guidelines created for the diagnosis and management of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in Saudi Arabia. A committee was formed from the editors at King Khalid University Hospital after due recognition of the high prevalence of HCC in Saudi Arabia. Recommendations in the guidelines were based on the best available evidence and tailored to the needs of the patients in Saudi Arabia. It is also expected that the guidelines will improve the care of patients suffering from HCC and facilitate the performance of research in the area. |
