This publication presents information on economic and political conditions in Mexico in 2007. Felipe Calderón took office as president in December 2006 and is expected to keep Mexican economy stable by maintaining prudent fiscal policies and debt management while keeping investment levels steady. The expansion of Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México airport was in its final stages in mid-August 2007. The country's economy also grew by 2.6% in the first quarter of 2007, a moderation from a strong 5.5% in the same quarter in 2006. |
