Abstrakt: The article evaluates several voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services that involve the use of the Macintosh for making calls. The author recommends the service provided by Skype since sound quality was consistently excellent when calling from a Macintosh over a home broadband connection or using public wireless hotspots. The company was also the most helpful and intuitive. The sound quality of the VoIP service being offered by SightSpeed is said to be less impressive and does not support call forwarding to landlines or cellular telephones. Gizmo Project's service is ideal for podcasters who want to record telephone interviews.
