The article presents a diagnostic case concerning a male infant with a multiple petechiae on his abdomen and eczematous plaques over the head and neck, who was born to a 26-year-old mother whose pregnancy was complicated by thrombocytopenia and presumed maternal lupus. The diagnosis in this child proved to be Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, confirmed by flow cytometry, wherein it showed a decreased amount of the Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein in the patient's lymphocytes and monocytes. |
