The article suggests the use of the Partners in Caregiving (PIC) program in evaluating the partnership between caregivers and institutionalized family members in the U.S. Two parallel workshop series are involved in the PIC program. The first one is designed for nursing staff such as registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants. The second for family members of residents in a particular nursing home. These workshops hope to engender empathy for members of both groups, as well as to promote further cooperation and communication. |
