The article reports on the question of whether to make the cervical cancer vaccinations mandatory for young girls. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the first vaccine that protects individuals against human papilloma virus (HPV), a sexually transmitted disease that can cause cervical cancer. The issue emanates from the fact that the vaccine is recommended for school-age girls, so it is debated whether to defer this to the parent's oversight in their daughter's sexual health. |
