The author discusses reverse osmosis (RO) desalination systems for private wells. He discusses the high-salinity problems experienced by homeowners in their private well. Total dissolved solids (TDS) levels of these water supplies typically equal or exceed ranges of 5,000 parts per million (ppm) to 19,000 ppm. Water with these levels is not potable and would be considered highly corrosive to a home's plumbing system, so RO desalination system is called for. |
