| Abstrakt: |
The article discusses a study on the demographics and causes of falling accidents of older people. The study shows that 25 to 50 percent of older people fall every year, and as the older population continues to grow the percentage is likely to grow. The built environment of the elderly is identified as the direct cause of falling. The study suggests an in-depth discussion on the causes of falls in relation to interior design recommendations to improve safety through design applications. It stresses that future investigations should consider the multifarious nature of falling. |
