The article presents a study which aims to distinguish the home products and equipment items that are difficult or easy to operate by older females beyond age 55, and determine the differences between age groupings of older consumers as to ease of operation and use of products and equipment. A questionnaire was administered to 631 Nebraska females to assess the degree of ease in operating and using 34 household products and equipment items. It was found that for the 377 respondents among the total subjects, the five most difficult-related tasks include cleaning combination storm windows, operating handles for cleaning, and rotating a mattress. |
