The article focuses on the findings of a study that aims to evaluate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MS) in individuals with impaired fasting glucose (IFG) and/or impaired glucose tolerance (IGT). It notes that MS is a condition characterized by the simultaneous presence of a constellation of proatherogenic clinical and biochemical abnormalities. It cites the reasons of researchers for concluding that IFG and IGT should not be approached as isolated conditions. |
