The article attempts to evaluate the health risk behaviors of rural secondary school students in Zimbabwe using an instrument that focuses explicitly on behaviors rather than on knowledge, attitudes and beliefs alone. It also seeks to identify the setting in which these behaviors occur and identify differences in behavior by gender, grade and gender-grade interactions. Three categories of youth risk behaviors considered high-priority areas for adolescent health were explored. These behaviors include sexual behaviors, behaviors associated with substance use, and behaviors related to violence. |
