Abstrakt: Permeability is one of a fabrics most important physical properties. It is closely in relation with geometrical conformation. In fact, liquid absorbency, mass transfer, thermal and moisture comfort and properties are influenced by phenomenon of fluid flowing through fibrous structure. There are many methods to estimate permeability. Those methods can not reach the fabric pore scale in many cases and especially for light structures to evaluate water and generally liquid permeability. So a new apparatus based on pressure losses upstream and downstream sample with varying water velocity was developed. Apparatus, the method of determining water permeability is described below, and some example of values measured of water and air permeability are given. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
