Abstrakt:	The article discusses unexpected surpluses in the receipts of German social security premiums versus benefit payouts. As a consequence of the windfall, several demands have been made, including lowering the retirement age, general raising of pension benefit amounts, suspension of a rise in insurance premium amounts scheduled for 1973, and refunds of federal subsidies to social security funds. Each suggestion is explored.
