Abstrakt: The article examines the transition that families experience as they leave early intervention (EI) for children with disabilities in the United States. Focus is made on the infant/toddler services of Part C of the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to enter preschool special education when the child reaches the age of three. The resiliency model is analyzed as a framework for comprehending the transition.
