The article cites the study which aims to determine the prevalence and characteristics of sickle cell pain in young children. Several factors about creating a collaborative environment to support the recruitment and retention of children with sickle cell disease (SCD) such as research ethics and consent process are discussed. Comments from the participants about the study and the ways on how the researchers build strong relationships to research participants are presented. |
