Abstrakt: The article examines occupational health research on arsenic conducted by the American Smelting and Refining Co. (ASARCO) and its relationship to the arsenic standard of the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). It presents a brief history of the science of occupational arsenic exposure. It cites a document which showed that ASARCO scientists tried to influence the study's conclusions. It mentions the role of ASARCO in addressing concerns on the carcinogenicity of arsenic.
