Anisotropy of the normal resistivity and suppression of superconductivity at twin boundaries in HoBa2Cu3O7-δ single crystals with different oxygen content.

Abstrakt: The temperature dependence of the longitudinal and transverse conductivity is investigated in HoBa2Cu3O7-δ single crystals with different oxygen concentrations. It is shown that twin boundaries are efficient centers for scattering of normal carriers and suppression of the superconducting state. It is found that the anisotropy of the normal resistivity ρcab(T) is described well in the framework of a universal “1/2 law” for thermally activated hopping conduction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
