An issue of gaining relevance in higher education is the steady increase in grades during the last four decades. Numerous postsecondaiy institutions have examined the effect of increasing grades and have implemented or are investigating strategies to mitigate this current phenomena. Many questions and theories exist regarding the impact of what has been referred to as "grade inflation" and the purpose of this study was to empirically examine the impact of increasing grades at a major southern AAU research institution, the University of Arkansas.
