The article presents a study which evaluates the effect of age on the timing of movement in performing industrial tasks. Researchers have observed the efficiency of each industrial operator under different elements of movement. Data obtained show that there is no significant difference in element times involving movement between younger and older workers within the limits imposed by the lack of control over collection of the data. Researchers conclude that if the output of older workers is less than that of younger men, it is not because they are in general slower in making the movements involved in the task. |
