Abstrakt: The article presents the four clinical examples involving the use of the videotape to show its value in engaging families, parents, and children in a family therapy. It is asserted that these families are not interested to become involved with probation officers since they have all sorts of stereotypes concerning how probation officers work. As emphasized, the tape offers a very concrete example of how a family worked with a probation officer and shows a working example of good enough therapy. It is found that therapy which involves the use of this kind of tape does help in solving many ethical problems related to the issue of attaining informed consent to undertake therapy or not.
