Abstrakt: The article presents a study on patients with modified leucotomy who were assessed clinically, physiologically and psychologically. The study supports on the findings of many other investigations, that the patients who responded best to leucotomy were those suffering from depression and anxiety. It has indicated that in schizophrenia, leucotomy may help depression or anxiety, but the effect of modified operations on delusions and hallucinations is often disappointing and only relatively few patients with this diagnosis were selected for operation.
