Psychiatric and social characteristics of bright delinquents.

Abstrakt: The article presents a study that examines the psychiatric and social characteristics of intelligent delinquents. The study was conducted to a group of delinquent boys of superior intelligence and a control group of delinquent boys of average intelligence at the London Remand Home. The results indicated that the two groups of boys were found to be largely similar in terms of social and criminological characteristics. There was a greater severity of psychiatric disorder found in the index series. Furthermore, there was a tendency for more index compared to control subjects to commit offences predominantly psychological.
