Abstrakt: The article presents a study that examines relationship of paranoid and withdrawal symptoms to reaction time. In this study, 480 schizophrenic patients were evaluated prior to treatment and after five treatment weeks by the In-patients Multi-dimensional Psychiatric Scale and by the Ward Behavior Rating Scale. Results showed that slower reaction time was found to be consistently associated with severity of a group of withdrawal symptoms, concurrently, reaction time was consistently unrelated to a group of paranoid symptoms. Such findings confirmed a study that hebephrenics have slower reaction times than paranoids.
