Abstrakt: The article cites a study that assesses the effects of cyproterone acetate and ethinyl oestradiol on sexual behavior of sexual offenders by applying a combination of behavioral, attitudinal, and physiological measures including sexual interest score, sexual activity score, and sexual attitude score. The subjects were 12 patients at Broadmoor Hospital who volunteered to enter the trial. A balanced design was applied using three drug conditions which include placebo, chlorpromazine, and beneperidol. No significant difference between the drugs on any measure was found. These drugs were discovered to be equally effective to reduce the frequency of sexual thoughts and sexual activity. Only cyproterone acetate had a weak effect in reducing erectile and subjective responses to erotic stimuli.
