Abstrakt: |
The article reports on the reach of a 2002 MTV global media campaign designed to promote HIV prevention among teens and young adults. Researchers looked at household surveys taken in Kathmandu, Nepal, as well as Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Dakar, Senegal. Researchers found that the MTV campaign reached some 652,000 young people in those cities, and not just those in the wealthier segments of the population. The success of the MTV promotion suggests a new model for reaching millions of young people through global networks. |
