Abstrakt: The article provides information on the accuracy and precision of the clinical evaluation and diagnosis of nongonococcal bacterial arthritis by reviewing the medical literature on it. The authors found that clinical findings can identify patients with peripheral, monoarticular arthritis who might have septic arthritis. The synovial white blood cells count and percentage of polymorphonuclear cells from arthrocentesis are needed to assess the likelihood of septic arthritis before the results from a Gram stain and culture test are known.
