| Abstrakt: |
The article provides information on an audit of emergency department (ED) patients to determine adherence to existing guidance on the management of patients who refuse treatment in Great Britain. The British National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) provided guidelines for clinicians who encounter patients who have self-harmed. Results of the audit show that the NICE flowchart is not used in the emergency ED when patients leave without, or refuse, treatment or care. |
