The article explores the aspects of the cultural assimilation process involving Puerto Ricans in the U.S. According to the researchers, only few Puerto Ricans prefer to abandon their native Spanish language although many of them are gaining good command of the English language. The researchers also found that the use of both Spanish and English were grammatical in both languages, while switching takes place only where the sentence structures of Spanish and English were parallel. |
