Abstrakt: | The article presents an experiment on the attitudes of fraternity members towards university control in the U.S. The experiment was undertaken to determine whether the attitudes of college fraternity members towards university control over student activities could be modified. The modification intends to direct an increased acceptance of the university as an authority over the areas regulated and of the specific regulations which restricted fraternities conduct. Results of the experiment show no significant differences in fraternity conduct with respect to acceptance of specific and current university regulations. The author further concludes that fraternity members' reaction depict that they were not convinced in the necessity of a particular form of controls to ensure university welfare. |
