Stereoselective synthesis of an optically active menthyl ester of 2-chloroethoxy-4′-dimethylaminophenylphosphorylacetic acid (CAPAM) is described. The product structure was confirmed by elemental analyses and IR, NMR (1H, 13C, 31P), and mass spectroscopy measurements. When tested for neuropharmacological properties, CAPAM exhibited a neurotropic (deprivating) activity and myorelaxant action. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
