The article presents information on Vinica, an old settlement, specific and in some elements original to Croatia. The settlement has a rich architectural and cultural legacy. The Opeka Arboretum is a famous park with a baroque historicist castle. In February 1961, it was declared a specialty protected monument of landscape architecture. Vinica wells are very important and must be protected appropriately. The former Jesuit's villa is a symbol of the market-town of Vinica, the most important historical building located in the very centre of the town. The Rajner family timber-framed country-house is a harmonic ground-floor house with a pretty gabled hall in the southern facade. The beauty of the building is preserved by the owners. |
