The article examines the use of Methylene-bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol (Tinosorb M), an organic ultraviolet filter used in sunscreen creams, which causes allergic contact dermatitis. The article presents a case report of patient suffering from facial dermatitis after the use of tinted sunscreen cream containing Tinosorb M. The article concludes by saying that patch and photopatch testing of the UV filter indicates contact allergy to this substance. |
