| Abstrakt: |
The article reports on a study of the musculoskeletal mechanism of pectoral fin propulsion in representatives of the two subfamilies of surfperches, particularly Amphistichus rhodoterus and Embiotoca lateralis. Despite their phylogenetic and ecological divergence, the surfperches showed several mechanistic similarities. Mechanistic variation in the family is from rather minor structural differences. |
