The article presents a track plan designed to let high-velocity trains enjoy scale speeds. The authors state that the scheme uses a sectional tract from Atlas O to form a basic oval using O-63 curves. On a layout designed for speed, fast moving commuter trains are ideal subjects. To increase enjoyment, there are features which can be added to a simple oval, such as a downtown commuter terminal, a track switch on the inner loop and a siding that curves around one end of the outer loop. |
