The article focuses on the stage performance of the jazz singer Betty Carter in Brooklyn, New York City. The author viewed that her onstage presence with changeable series of facial expressions has formed a visual extension of her singing performance. The author believed that a good listener of music need not use to see the performer, but Carter has urged her audience to look and listen with equal intensity. |
