The article looks into the impact of the legacy of the Islamist critiques of the West in the contemporary Turkish politics and foreign policy making. Turkey's membership in the European Union was referred to as a disproof of the clash of civilizations thesis. Three approaches had been advocated in order to analyze the anti-Western critiques including the clash of civilization, occidentalism and the global left paradigms. |
