A previous study of the zero-field conductivity parallel to the CuO2 planes of YBa2Cu3O7-δ films is extended to the microwave regime and to temperatures between 50 K and 200 K. At 21.3 GHz, σ(ω,T) is well described by the two-fluid model comprising a Drude term and a 3-dimensional XY-type superfluid, except for temperatures very close to Tc. Upon decreasing frequency, a peak of σ emerges at temperatures Tohgr > Tc, in qualitative agreement with the previous report at low frequencies. A detailed analysis of the peak positions Tω indicates that this peak arises from a narrow gaussian distribution of transitions to an incoherent Ginzburg-Landau superfluid, rather than from thermally excited vortex-antivortex fluctuations as suggested earlier. © 2006 American Institute of Physics [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
