Abstrakt: An abstract of the article "Heart Rate Variability During REM and NREM Sleep in Patients with Dysthymia and Major Depression," by J. Jakitowicz and Z. Nowicki is presented. The author offers a study which tests the hypothesis that the dysfunction of autonomic nervous system (ANS) identifies dysthymia with that of the depressive disorders. The result of the study showed that, dysthymia will be distinguished with that of depressive disorders during Rapid eye movement sleep.
