Abstrakt: The article describes a case of a woman aged 47 with bone marrow involvement in breast cancer detected by positron emission tomography (PET). Conventional bone marrow biopsies show that about 40 percent of patients with metastatic breast cancer have bone marrow involvement. PET imaging can detect metastatic disease earlier than other radiologic methods. It merits further investigation, especially when conventional imaging has been unhelpful.
