The article presents a study on the use of a continent ureteroileocaecal urinary reservoir which is emptied by intermittent catheterization via a skin flush ileostomy stoma, using an 18-22 F catheter. The results shows that seven patients had this initial type of ureteroileocaecal urinary reservoir, in which in 4 of these cases was combined with a total cystectomy or anterior pelvic exenteration for malignant disease. Also, the potential complications of any urinary reservoir were discussed. |
