The author reflects on the role of social service in Europe. An overview of the expansion of state's welfare and the social welfare's value in many European countries is presented. He mentioned the visit made by the Minister to Germany to see how social pedagogues look after children in state care, and the book of Walter Lorenz, the first European professor of Social Work. |
