Abstrakt: The article focuses on the recommendations of how to handle extreme events and how relevance information technology to these recommendations. It analyzes previous recommendations in order to illustrate the role of information technology in emergency and crisis. These include 125 recommendations for the White House in 2006, 38 for the Department of Homeland Security and 81 for the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee. Several lists of recommendations are presented like establishing report systems, improve logistics and track training of personnel. In addition, part of the recommendation such as supply chain management, inventory and warning and alerting systems are offered.
