The article focuses on small cell carcinoma of the bronchus. Tobacco smoking is the primary aetiological factor found in small cell lung cancers. Among miners, the causative agent of lung cancer is usually alphaemitting radon, a natural decay product of uranium that is mined. In recent years, major advances in small cell carcinoma were in the field of tumor biology. |
