The article discusses the philosophy and methodology of clinical cancer research. French physiologist Claude Bernard developed the theory of scientific determinism. The principal method of obtaining a reliable evaluation of treatment effect on patients is the clinical trials. Clinical trials are categorized by the type of primary treatment such as chemotherapy, surgery and radiography. |
