Abstrakt: The article presents information on papers related to viral infections cited at the meeting of the British Society of Immunology held in November 1985. One report suggests that the role of virologists in immunology is to discover ways in which a virus becomes persistent while an immunologist investigates why the immune system failed. Rubella virus can be detected in animals through their organs and secretions. In feline leukaemia virus, the provirus is incorporated into the host's DNA and is retained in new cell progeny.
