The article offers information on a new pre-hospital system initiated by The Heart Center of Greater Cincinnati at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, where patients can now be diagnosed on the way to the hospital and treated almost immediately upon arrival. Research has shown that 90 minutes is the maximum allowable time a heart attack patient can wait before having the blocked artery opened with a stent or balloon. Information on how the system works is presented. |
