| Abstrakt: | This article discusses an aesthetic genealogy of the screen saver. Like that of much contemporary art, its aesthetic genealogy might reasonably begin with Marcel Duchamp. A portal into a prehistory of the screen saver is a geometric graphic spiraling out of a woman's eye. Early television and video art takes one step closer to the screen saver through its integration with the computer. |
