The article considers the responsibilities of sports physicians. The qualifications for team physicians recommended by professional organizations include unrestricted medical license, skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and knowledge of orthopedic and medical issues. The team medical staff should develop an emergency plan that is, among others, adaptable to different seasons, sports and playing conditions. The physician should be aware of medications prohibited by sporting organizations. |
